Every order over $100 ships free, and every pair of shoes is $145.
Four shapes, one price: every TREAD shoe is $145. Three of them sit on the same court last, so they fit the same. The question is not which is best. It is what your week looks like.
The TREAD Court is the one we built everything else from, and the one to buy first. Full-grain leather with a suede collar, a cork-lined footbed and a stitched recycled rubber cupsole, in six colors. It goes to the office, the pub and the school gate without anyone noticing it changed rooms. Buy it true to size; between sizes, take the size down.
The TREAD Court High is the same last and sole with a padded ankle collar, in Black and Bone. It wants a mid sock, so it earns its place from October to March, and under a long coat or wide trousers, where a low can look lost at the hem. The padded collar sits snug round the ankle on uneven stones. Size it exactly as you would the low.

The Runner is for the days that are mostly walking. Suede and recycled mesh on an EVA midsole, a recycled rubber outsole, reflective piping and a heel pull tab. Its toe box is roomier than the Court's, so it is also the one to try if the Court feels close across the front of your foot. The trade is the foam midsole: it cannot be resoled, so when its sole goes, the shoe goes with it.
The Slip is for the back door, the airport tray and the house with a shoes-off rule. Full-grain leather with twin elastic gussets, on the Court's cupsole and cork-lined footbed, so there is no break-in and no laces to deal with. It comes in Bone, and like the low and the high, our workshop can resole it.
A simple rule if you are stuck: the low if you want one pair for everything, the high if you live in coats, the runner if you walk more than you sit, the slip if you are forever in and out of the door.
If you only buy one, buy the low. The others are for the parts of your week it was never meant to cover.
We put a booth in the shop for a weekend. Four frames, a shoe in most of them, nobody standing still.
Two minutes a week and three tools. The routine that keeps full-grain leather creasing instead of cracking.
Plain court shoes all look alike from a distance. The differences that matter are easy to check once you know the questions to ask.
Six colors, one shoe. Start with the trousers you actually wear, not the swatch that looks best on its own.
Why we make one court shoe instead of a new one every season, and what making it properly actually means.
